Dr. Christie was born and raised in Texas and received his DVM from Texas A&M University and Masters degree from Colorado State University. He and his wife, Star, met on a blind date while in college at A&M and she claims "he's been blind ever since!" They were married in 1973. Although she has a degree in elementary education and taught several years, she is the office manager at the practice and most likely the first person you will see when you enter the office.
Dr. Christie was first in practice in Marshall, TX and then Dimmitt, TX before pursuing his Masters at Colorado State. From there he and Star moved to Hereford, TX for 2 years before moving to Mobile in the fall of 1978. They extablished Town & Country Animal Hospital in 1983.
The Christies have 3 children, 6 grandsons, and 3 dogs. Their interests include doing things with theur children and grandchildren, traveling, photography and their koi pond. Their favorite place to have visited is Alaska and they will gladly share their experience with you upon asking.
Town & County Animal Hospital is much more to them than just a veterinary practice - it is their "extended family" and as such, their clients and clients' pets are treated as family. They welcome children with all their inquisitive questions and even have a play area for small children.
Please go by to meet them and take your furry friend! And Star is bound to have both dog treats and "people treats" (usually chocolate of some kind) on her desk.
